Dr Nicole Stone

Lead Scientist

Nicole Stone is a neuroscientist and pharmacologist by training. She brings extensive drug discovery expertise from biotech, CRO and academic settings, with a particular emphasis on small molecule drug development for central nervous system (CNS) disorders. Her therapeutic areas of expertise include amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), ischaemic stroke, and psychiatric conditions. She is particularly interested in bridging the gap between early-stage in vitro pharmacology screening and more complex in vitro models.

Nicole holds a BSc in Biomedical Science and a PhD in Cell Biology and Drug Discovery. In 2025, she joined Medicines Discovery Catapult as part of the R&D consultancy team, where she supports SMEs in advancing their drug discovery programmes.

Dr Marc Daigneault

Venture Building Lead

Marc Daigneault is a funding and life science strategy and innovation specialist, having secured over £90m in funding for SMEs and RTOs undertaking transformative research and development across Europe, catalysing a further £800 million in private investment and corporate deals.

He is a cellular and molecular biologist (M.Sc., Ph.D.) with deep expertise in infection and immunology.
