One of our focus areas at Medicines Discovery Catapult is Neuroscience, where there is a significant unmet need for new medicines across the whole spectrum of central nervous system disorders. We are using these types of assays, together with other phenotypic outputs, to help innovators understand how their drug or therapy can affect cell behaviour. Our goal is to remove barriers for neuroscience drug discovery through a generation of predictable human CNS models, teamed with a suite of innovative assays.
Dr Michael Eyres, Lead Scientist at MDC, has been working on applying MDC’s biomarker expertise to a novel approach in drug discovery.
Video case study: Catherine Eagle, Lead Scientist in Immunology at Medicines Discovery Catapult, shares a real-world case study from MDC’s discovery labs.
What does hypoxia look like inside a tumour, cell by cell? Our team can map it, single-cell spatial transcriptomics for up to 5,000 targets in standard FFPE tissue.
